COENZYME Q-10 (in Co-Enzyme Q-10 Capsules) may interact with CARVEDILOL (in Carvedilol Tablets)

Antihypertensives, such as carvedilol, mainly are used to lower blood pressure. Chemicals in coenzyme Q-10 also may lower blood pressure. If coenzyme Q-10 is taken at the same time as carvedilol, blood pressure may become too low, a condition known as hypotension. Signs of hypotension may not occur until blood pressure is very low. They may include confusion, dizziness, fainting, headache, irregular heartbeat, and light-headedness. Individuals who take carvedilol should not take coenzyme Q-10. Those who take both should be alert for signs that blood pressure may be too low. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is well-documented and is considered moderate in severity.
